Interstate 95 Fort Lauderdale to Miami - South

Faded overheads directed traffic along the on-ramps from Interstate 595 to both the I-95 southbound mainline and Exit 23 to Florida 818 (Griffin Road) in Dania Beach. These were replaced after 2008. 05/16/08

Approaching the Griffin Road underpass, the overhead for Exits 22, 21 and 20 was removed along with the sign bridge facing northbound traffic due to construction of the 95 Express Lanes in 2014. 05/16/08

Half of the SR 848 shield was missing on the half mile guide sign for Exit 22, perhaps from the winds of Hurricane Wilma in October 2005. 03/25/06

Continuing south through Hollywood on the 1.5 mile approach to Exit 20 with Hollywood Boulevard (SR 820). This mileage sign was removed during constructed of the I-95 HOT Lanes in 2014. 05/16/08

Exit 19 joins I-95 with SR 824 (Pembroke Road) on the south Hollywood city line in 0.75 miles. This overhead was moved temporarily and later replaced during work to expand the freeway with the new managed lanes in 2014. 03/25/06

Straddling the Pembroke Park and Hallandale city lines, Intestate 95 approached the Hallandale Beach Boulevard exit on 0.75 miles. 05/16/08

A centerline exits sign posted just north of the Miami-Dade County line. This sign was removed to accommodate 95 Express lane construction. 05/16/08

Guide signs for Exit 16 were amended to display NE 203rd Street when State Road 854 was decommissioned by 2003. 05/16/08

A second interchange sequence sign posted between Exits 18 and 16 referenced U.S. 441, SR 9, and SR 826 in place of Palmetto Expressway for the Golden Glades Interchange in 3.75 miles. 05/16/08

A wayfinding sign listed the distances to Downtown Miami, MIA Airport and Miami Beach while directing tourists to remain along Interstate 95 south. 03/25/06

The next exit along southbound is Exit 14, Junction Florida 860, Miami Gardens Road east to Miami Beach and west to Carol City and ultimately Interstate 75 south of the Miami-Dade and Broward County Line.
This sign was replaced by 2008, and later moved to a new sign bridge posted two miles ahead of the 95 Express Lanes beginning. 03/25/06

One half mile north of Exit 14, when I-95 south consisted of a left-hand HOV-2 lane and three general purpose lanes. 03/25/06

Interstate 95 crosses Snake Creek Canal one quarter mile north of Florida 860 and 1.75 miles from U.S. 441 and company. Collectively, Exit 12 is known as the Golden Glades Interchange, a major focal point for traffic due to the connection of several freeways and major surface streets. 05/16/08

Forthcoming Exit 12 can be a choke point during the commute hours. Note that the left lane (HOV) prepared to split off from the mainline to guide carpools on a flyover ramp over the freeway interchange, thus avoiding some of the congestion. This option was only available for carpools continuing south along Interstate 95; all exits at the Golden Glades Interchange require use of the mainline freeway. 12/28/03

The Exit 12 panel for U.S. 441, SR 9, SR 826 and Florida's Turnpike was damaged by Hurricane Wilma in 2005, leading to a replacement of both it and the pull-through panel by 2008. 05/16/08

One mile north of Exit 12 onto U.S. 441 south with its connections to SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway), SR 9 (Unity Boulevard) south and the Turnpike north. 03/25/06
